Since 1975, Bugil Academy has provided an elite education for boys and girls of Korea¡¯s Chung-nam province. Each year, many graduates of Bugil attend Korea¡¯s top universities.
In 2005, the leaders of Bugil Academy and the school¡¯s corporate sponsor, Hanwha Corporation, led by the current CEO Mr. Seung-Youn Kim , conceived of the Global Leader Program- a special ¡°school within a school¡± program that would provide a rigorous curriculum and diverse educational experience to the top students in Korea to study in an international education program. Bugil intensely recruited an international faculty with top educational pedigrees and experience.? Plans were laid for expansions to the current campus to support the new program and a rigorous admission process was put in place with Hanwha Corporation providing generous financial support for the entire program.
In January of 2009, the dream became a reality as Bugil Academy¡¯s
Global Leader Program began classes for its inaugural class
of 18 students. The goal of the program is to provide students
with a diverse, international learning environment that prepares them
for leadership positions in the globalized Korea of tomorrow. Our students¡¯
aim is to attend the most exceptional institutes of higher education
in the world.
Bugil Academy places a high value on school environment. The campus sits on 162 acres of gently sloping wooded hillside overlooking the town of Cheonan and the mountains beyond. A $2,000,000 remodeling process has already been completed on classrooms, seminar rooms, and the dormitory. Further expansions are planned for a completely new building encompassing sports facilities and a music and fine arts center.
While buildings, libraries, and modern laboratories are important, Bugil Academy thinks the human quality of education is the truest measure of a school's prestige. Therefore, we recruit the most professional and experienced teachers from around the world with warm hearts for students and passion for teaching. Our gifted teachers make creative thinking possible, and lead students to fulfill their highest potential.
