1. The GLP student-to-teacher ratio is 5 to 1 - the benefits of which are best experienced through the Mentor Program.? Each of our students is assigned a personal faculty mentor which allows them personal access to a world-class faculty recruited from the top universities from a variety of nations. Students meet with their mentors regularly to help build confidence, integrity, responsibility, and overall practice for building relationships with future college professors. All our faculty members have advanced degrees and years of experience in their specific disciplines and provide a wealth of knowledge and opportunity for GLP students.
2. The GLP's integrated curriculum augments the Korean National Curriculum Standards with highly advanced courses that provide college-preparatory instruction to prepare gifted students for college study abroad.? As an international education program, all English, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Language courses are taught by English-speaking instructors. All GLP lessons are guided by the Educational Goals and Outcomes as explained on the following page. Whether it is in the humanities or in applied math and sciences, our students' knowledge prepares them to adapt to different environments and succeed as global leaders.
3. Our resident college counselor is available everyday over the course of every student¡¯s three years in the GLP to provide advice, guidance and strategies for getting into the most competitive universities in the world.
4. Our daily schedule also provides time for our students to explore their interests through extracurricular activities and clubs.? Success in a foreign university requires more than academic excellence.? GLP students also develop real-life leadership, organization, communication and cooperation skills through a broad range of extracurricular activities.
5. Students at the GLP are privileged to study with the top 1% of their peers in South Korea.? Each of our students was specifically recruited for his or her academic discipline as well as human spirit and open-minded character.
6. Research, critical inquiry, and writing are primary concerns within our coursework. ?The GLP Directed Research Project (DRP) also helps students develop these skills.? Students work with their mentor teachers to define a topic of inquiry and construct a long-term research plan that allows them to gain a wide range and depth of real-world experiences and knowledge.
7. We provide many international exchange opportunities to help our students develop a multicultural worldview based on a broad array of international experiences. We have global partnership programs with two top American high schools and more are in development. Our partnerships strengthen student achievement, help students prepare for college and forge a deeper understanding of the distinctive qualities of cultures.
8. In 2008 two million dollars was invested to renovate our residence hall, classrooms, computer lab, fitness center and lounge facilities. Our 162-acre campus also includes three athletic fields with space for soccer, basketball, and other field events.
9. In the Global Leader Program, we teach the beauty of human society and the diversity of peoples populating the earth. Each group and every individual has a precious perspective that can be learned and integrated into a world-view promoting mutual respect, understanding, and prosperity.? Armed with this perspective, our students are encouraged to identify and develop their own individual talents, enter global society as global leaders, and devote themselves to improving the world. |
