to the website of the GLP! This site has been designed to help you easily
find answers to all your questions about our program, including its
relationship with Bugil Academy, Bugil Girl¡¯s Academy and our sponsor,
Hanwha Corporation. I encourage you to take your time and enjoy the

Throughout my four decades as an educator, I have watched Korean
students attend foreign universities in ever-increasing numbers. Overall,
we view their accomplishments as quite extraordinary. However, the Global
Leader Program was founded on the premise that Korean students could
be better prepared to meet the challenges of an overseas education - to say nothing of the challenges of our increasingly globalized society.
We believe that a vital function of this preparation includes an unwavering
commitment to developing our students¡¯ creativity and ability to innovate,
and we also expect them to always meet their fellow human beings with
open hearts and love.

on this site, but here I would like to briefly discuss balance - that is, balance among rigorous academic preparation and those other
elements that make a young person well-rounded, sociable and capable
of global leadership.
From the start, the GLP has made a special effort to provide
our students with the time and facilities to pursue the extra-curricular
activities, student-led clubs, summer internships and English-language
instruction that will produce the next - and better prepared-generation
of Korean students. Although we still have work to do, I believe
our sense of balance shines a light on Korea¡¯s future.
That said, rigorous academic preparation remains our primary
objective. Currently, our academic offerings are modest and correspond
to the needs of our sole class of 10th graders - but we have
big plans. Under the Academics section of this website, we have clearly
laid out our course offerings for 2010 and beyond. I am confident
that we will be able to accommodate our students¡¯ wide range of intellectual
interests.
As our student body grows, our ongoing support from Hanwha will allow us to add faculty to keep classes small, build or upgrade facilities, and offer even more courses. I sincerely hope you look forward to the future as much as we do.
